WHAT IS ONLY PUNTS?
Only Punts is a paid Australian horse racing tips and analysis service. Members get our racing selections, form analysis and access to the OP community, plus our OP Premium app for AI-powered horse racing analysis.
HOW DOES ONLY PUNTS WORK?
We tip two days each week, one selected midweek meeting from Monday to Friday, plus Saturday racing. We put serious hours into analysing the fields, looking for the right races and opportunities before putting out our selections. But OP is more than just the tips. Members also get access to a private community of like-minded punters who follow the action together.
WHAT HORSE RACING TIPS DOES ONLY PUNTS PROVIDE?
We focus on Australian metropolitan and provincial horse racing, providing our official selections along with suggested units, race comments, blackbook runners, extra plays and quaddies when we see the right opportunities.
WHEN ARE ONLY PUNTS TIPS RELEASED?
Tips are usually released the night before the selected race day. Members are notified by email and through Discord, so you’ll know when we’re tipping and when the latest selections are live.
HOW DOES ONLY PUNTS ANALYSE HORSE RACES?
We use racing data platforms including R.A.P. and Punting Form alongside years of industry knowledge and our own systems. We know the factors we want to see before backing a runner and track our results over time to keep ourselves accountable. Our results have been tracked since May 2024, so members can see how our approach has performed over the long term.
WHAT IS A UNIT IN HORSE RACE BETTING?
A unit is a way of sizing your bets based on your own bankroll rather than using the same dollar amount as everyone else. At OP, we base our staking around a 200-unit bankroll, so your individual unit size depends on the amount you’re comfortable setting aside for betting.
WHAT IS A 200-UNIT BANKROLL?
A 200-unit bankroll means dividing the amount you’ve chosen to bet with by 200 to calculate the value of one unit. For example, a $1,000 bankroll would make 1 unit equal to $5. A 2-unit suggested bet would therefore be $10. OP may suggest anywhere from 1 to 10 units depending on the selection, but your bankroll should always be an amount you’re comfortable betting with.
WHAT DOES FINDING VALUE MEAN IN HORSE RACING?
Finding value is about identifying when we believe a runner’s available odds are greater than its actual chance of winning. A horse might be priced at $20 by the market, for example, while our analysis suggests it should be much shorter. Finding those differences is a big part of the OP approach, we’re not looking to tip every favourite or every race. We’re looking for opportunities where we believe the odds offer genuine value.
WHAT IS A BLACKBOOK RUNNER?
A blackbook runner is a horse we’ve identified as one to keep an eye on after something caught our attention in a previous run, trial or preparation. When one of our blackbook runners is racing again, we reassess it against the field and let members know when we think it’s worth following.
DOES ONLY PUNTS HAVE A DISCORD?
Yes. Paying OP members get access to our private Discord community, including Daily Tips, Members Chat and Extras. It’s where members can follow the action, talk racing and get involved with the OP community on race day.
DOES ONLY PUNTS HAVE AN APP?
Yes. We’ve built OP Premium, our AI-powered horse racing analysis app designed to give punters another way to analyse runners and races using data and AI.
